Google's new Ads Setting to provide better understanding and control over your Ads

Back in the year 2015, Google integrated "Ad settings", "Why this ad?" and "Mute this ad" in your Google account, to help you manage and have better control over the ads you see.
Google has now made new changes in its Ad settings to let users understand how ads target them and other ways to personalize the ads.

Google explained, "Today, we're launching the new Ad Settings, which makes it easier for you to understand and control how your ads are tailored to you. We're also providing more transparency around why you see certain ads by expanding Why this ad? to all of our services that show Google ads (like Search and YouTube) and almost all websites and apps that partner with us to show ads."
The new ad settings show different factors on how ads are tailored to you in a single view. You can learn why you get ads related to these topics and can even remove them by Turning off.

Ever wondered why an ad starts playing for you but not for your friend?
There are different criteria on which ads are tailored based on your activity while you're signed in, information you've added to your Google Account, and information from advertisers that partner with Google to show ads"like if you've visited their site or signed up for their newsletter.

For example, you might see an ad of the soccer ball or soccer socks if you recently watched a soccer match on YouTube.

Another example is if you ever mentioned your age, let's say 40 years in Google Accounts, you might get ads related to mutual funds or any other topic that suits your age preferences.

After turning off any of the factors, you will no longer receive ads related to it on any of the Google services as long as you're signed in to your Google Account.
Google's "Why this ad?" that appears next to an ad and lets you know why you see this ad will now be available on more ads.

Google says,"starting today, you'll see Why this ad? notices on all our services that show Google Ads, such as ads on YouTube (including the YouTube app on connected TVs), Google Play, Gmail, Maps and Search. We've also expanded it to include almost all of the websites and apps that partner with us to show ads."
With these new updates, Google has provided more transparency and control over how your information is used and shared.
