Google Developers, as part of Android P latest updates, have made their salad emoji more vegan-friendly by removing egg. Google User Experience manager Jennifer Daniel made the announcement through her twitter handle.
The move has been welcomed by Vegan lovers but also received twitter backlash just within few minutes of posting the tweet. There were series of tweets showing disappointment with the salad turning egg-less.
Also, there was twitter debate on whether an egg is vegetarian or not?
Later, Ms Daniel clarified, "Just want to clarify that the goal of salad emoji redesign was to create an image more faithful to unicode's description. 'A bowl of healthy salad, containing lettuce, tomato, and other salad items such as cucumber.' Bon appetite!"
Other new changes in Android emojis includes the launch of 157 new icons like the skateboard, support for redheads, gender-neutral family and couple emojis, Flamingo, white heart, mango, kangaroo emoji and much more.
