Now lock and record WhatsApp voice messages, no more continuous mic pressing

This latest WhatsApp Lock feature comes as a helping hand for anyone who uses WhatsApp voice recording to send voice messages. Earlier while recording voice messages, you had to tap the microphone button and continuously keep it pressed until it gets recorded. Then, you can either release it to send or slide to the left to cancel it.
It is surely very annoying to just keep your fingers pressed on the screen and often it becomes very irritating while recording long messages.

WhatsApp for Android new lock feature lets you record voice messages without long pressing the microphone button. To use this feature, you just need to hold the microphone button for 2 to 3 seconds and then swipe up when you see a LOCK icon to lock the recording.

The recording gets locked and you can release the finger. The timer can be seen on the left side with the "Cancel" button in the middle. The "Send" button is the same as before on the rightmost side of the WhatsApp chat.

This recent update is currently available in WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.18.102
