At Google I/O 2018, Google announced its digital well-being initiative which focuses on letting the users know how much time they are spending with technology and making it easier to get needful information in a shorter time period.
YouTube, as a part of Google's digital well-being that focuses on balancing technology and life, has rolled out "take a break" feature that will give the users an option to set a reminder and limit the video viewing time.
Users can set a reminder to appear every 15, 30, 60, 90, or 180 minutes. During these time intervals, the video will get automatically paused and a "take a break" notification will pop up on the screen which will notify the users about the time they had spent on watching the video.
Users can either continue watching the video by dismissing the reminder or take a break from browsing videos on YouTube.
To access the feature, tap your user photo at the top right side of the YouTube app, go to Settings and choose General. Under General, you will find "Remind me to take a break" option and choose the video limiting time.
This feature is currently available in the App version 13.17.55 of the YouTube app on Android.
The latest version of the app is free to download at our marketplace and can also be installed from Google Play Store using the given-below link.
